Congratulations on your new website! Now for something a lot of business owners don't expect: publishing a website doesn't bring in visitors on its own. Launching is simply step one.
We've likely done as much behind-the-scenes setup as can be done. But even the best website in the world won't get visitors if people don't know it's there. Getting found is a weekly and monthly habit, and there's no magic switch.
Start with the Google basics
These steps are yours to do because they happen in your own Google accounts. For security reasons, we don't log in to clients' Google accounts, and this work isn't part of our website service.
A few free steps help Google find your site and keep your business listing up to date. They help, but they won't bring in visitors by themselves.
Then keep showing up
Without paid ads, visitors come from steady effort over time. Pick one or two of these and start there:
Tell people. Share your new site with customers, friends, and business partners.
Post on social media. Post regularly and reply to comments.
Write blog posts. Answer the questions customers ask you, and post on a regular schedule.
Add more pages. A dozen or so pages about your specific services or topics give people more ways to find you.
Get other websites to link to you. Ask partners and local groups, and get listed in professional directories.
Share your news. Send out a press release when you have something new to announce.
This takes time, and that's normal. Small, steady effort adds up.
Want some help?
More pages for your site: We can build these for you as a paid service. Just ask us.
Google Ads, SEO, and social media: We recommend our client Blue Helix Marketing. Tell them LightPress sent you. This kind of help makes the most sense if you're in a competitive market and need to show up nationwide. Plan on a real budget, because you get what you pay for.
Your website is the foundation. What you do next is what brings people to it.
