The musician known as "Rench", the urban cowboy behind "Gangstagrass" and other genre twanging projects, is moving to Squarespace, and LightPress is helping make the transition. Best known for the theme song to FX's "Justified", as fans of the show we jumped at the chance to be involved. The site is still not 100% complete, but with season 3 fresh out of the barn, we just had to post it! www.gangstagrass.squarespace.com

Tall Chair Inc

San Francisco based iOS App developer Tall Chair Inc. needed a quick redesign of their existing site. With a 48 hour turnaround time, LightPress took their old clunky site and gave it the polish & shine they needed. Tall Chair is getting ready to release a revolutionary new publishing tool for the iPad, so this project was the first phase in what we hope will be a long relationship with a brilliant team. It still needs a little work, but stay tuned!

Visit their site, and be sure to check out the other cool Apps they have developed.

www.tallchair.com

The Taxi Of Tomorrow

German-based OPED needed a website that showcased the unique features of its dual-mode knee-rehabilitation device, the CAMOcpm (Continuous Passive Motion). This new website was created to rollout this new product in the US market, and we're really excited to see how it takes off in the States!

We enjoyed working with this tangerine color scheme, and the unique page layout for almost every section makes for an interesting browsing experience, while still keeping it clean & simple.

New Site: 5th Ave Liquors
Most people in the Metrowest Boston area know that Paul Morganti at 5th Ave in Framingham will always have an outstanding Wine selection. Here at LightPress, we also know that Larry down at 5th Ave in Millis has his own special beer rack in the back with some of the biggest, boldest, funkiest beers you've never heard of. We set them up with a new Squarespace site, and did some in-house training on the platform, and it looks like thery're off & running!

Coalition Yes! is not just another photographers website. It's a coalition of top notch photographers, producers, and marketing experts. Led by Myles McCutcheon, Coalition Yes works with corporations & individuals who need a complete solution for producing jaw-dropping photographic content.

Myles wanted a stripped down, bare bones design that would let the photos speak for themselves. Even standard sections like the Footer and Navigation were deemed extraneous, and we said...Yes!
Play this short clip from a recent episode of the Totally Rad Show to hear Alex Albrecht excitedly relay the big news about Squarespace securing some major funding. As Alex would say, Ah-Mazing.

2 years ago, LightPress jumped in with both feet, and began doing design & development exclusively for Squarespace. Their platform provided a solid solution to so many of our development challenges, and actually made web design fun again! While we have always been optimistic about where they were heading, we realize that there is intense competition in the hosted CMS field, and our focus on developing strictly for Squarespace was based mostly on instinct.

The news that Squarespace has secured $38.5 MILLION in funding is nothing short of electrifying. We are now feeling confident that this platform is only going to get bigger & better, and we are so excited to be part of this evolving ecosystem.

Thanks Squarespace!!!

Working on the Journey of the Universe project was rewarding enough, but this just takes the cake. The folks over at Squarespace added our design to the "Examples" page on Squarespace.com recently, and we are just thrilled! As exclusive developers for this platform, we have re-discovered the joy and excitement of web design, and we are looking forward to growing along with Squarespace as they evolve.

Being recognized by our heroes, and used as an example of what is possible on their platform, means the Universe to us.
This recent quote from Time Magazine says it all:

"In 1995, if you had a website, you were cutting-edge. By 2005, if you didn't have one, there was something wrong. Apps are now where websites were a decade ago."

Take a moment to really let that sentence sink in...

Once upon a time (way back in the 90's) having a company website was an option. It was all so new and exciting in those crazy, hazy, dot-com bubble days. Plenty of business got by without a website, but as the years went by there was a palpable shift. Professional websites transitioned from a cutting edge option to a dire neccessity almost overnight.

Will the same situation be true someday for mobile Apps? Many people seem to think so (namely the millions of consumers with iPhones, iPods, and soon to be iPads). If you're interested in staying ahead of the curve and getting an App built for your business, contact us today and we can get you started.
