The musician known as "Rench", the urban cowboy behind "Gangstagrass" and other genre twanging projects, is moving to Squarespace, and LightPress is helping make the transition. Best known for the theme song to FX's "Justified", as fans of the show we jumped at the chance to be involved. San Francisco based iOS App developer Tall Chair Inc. needed a quick redesign of their existing site. With a 48 hour turnaround time, LightPress took their old clunky site and gave it the polish & shine they needed.  Tall Chair is getting ready to release a revolutionary new publishing tool for the iPad, so this project was the first phase in what we hope will be a long relationship with a brilliant team. It still needs a little work, but stay tuned!

Karsan USA is one of 3 finalists selected by the City Of New York to design and produce the official NYC Taxi for the next decade. They are also the only design that meets the Americans With Disabilities Act specifications.

German-based OPED needed a website that showcased the unique features of its dual-mode knee-rehabilitation device, the CAMOcpm (Continuous Passive Motion). This new website was created to rollout this new product in the US market, and we're really excited to see how it takes off in the States!

We enjoyed working with this tangerine color scheme, and the unique page layout for almost every section makes for an interesting browsing experience, while still keeping it clean & simple.

New Site: 5th Ave Liquors
Most people in the Metrowest Boston area know that Paul Morganti at 5th Ave in Framingham will always have an outstanding Wine selection. Here at LightPress, we also know that Larry down at 5th Ave in Millis has his own special beer rack in the back with some of the biggest, boldest, funkiest beers you've never heard of. We set them up with a new Squarespace site, and did some in-house training on the platform, and it looks like thery're off & running!

Coalition Yes! is not just another photographers website. It's a coalition of top notch photographers, producers, and marketing experts.  Led by Myles McCutcheon, Coalition Yes works with corporations & individuals who need a complete solution for producing jaw-dropping photographic content.

Myles wanted a stripped down, bare bones design that would let the photos speak for themselves. Even standard sections like the Footer and Navigation were deemed extraneous, and we said...Yes! 2 years ago, LightPress  jumped in with both feet, and began doing design & development exclusively for Squarespace. Their platform provided a solid solution to so many of our development challenges, and actually made web design fun again! While we have always been optimistic about where they were heading, we realize that there is intense competition in the hosted CMS field, and our focus on developing strictly for Squarespace was based mostly on instinct.

The news that Squarespace has secured $38.5 MILLION in funding is nothing short of electrifying. We are now feeling confident that this platform is only going to get bigger & better, and we are so excited to be part of this evolving ecosystem.

Working on the Journey of the Universe project was rewarding enough, but this just takes the cake. The folks over at Squarespace added our design to the "Examples" page on Squarespace.com recently, and we are just thrilled! As exclusive developers for this platform, we have re-discovered the joy and excitement of web design, and we are looking forward to growing along with Squarespace as they evolve.

Tom asked us to deliver 2 similar, but different, websites simultaneously to promote some of his upcoming projects. Wolf Tree Programs offers a variety of courses in primitive technologies, wilderness living skills and animal tracking for both children and adults. These folks are passing along that vital skillset that has been all but erased from our culture...tracking, bow making, forraging.

The Project: Wolftree got robbed!!! Their old site was nothing to write home about, but when their domain name expired a few months ago, some heartless poacher in a far off country snatched it up. With spring classes starting up soon, they needed a quick site put together, and we had a blast creating this earthy looking site for them.

This video addresses the sweeping changes that face the world of print media as it struggles to keep up with technology. However, it's core message can be applied to any business or individual who is struggling to make sense out of the "wired" generation and their gadgets.

Once upon a time (way back in the 90's) having a company website was an option. It was all so new and exciting in those crazy, hazy, dot-com bubble days. As of today, Yéle Haiti has prepared and distributed more 52,000 hot meals in a pilot program that began Sunday, January 24^th, 2010. The goal was to deliver between 5,500 to 7,000 individual hot meals a day in affected neighborhoods throughout Port-au-Prince.  

While these meals were delivered daily from January 24th to 31st, the hot meal pilot program is now operating on Sundays. The next hot meal delivery is today, February 7, with 6,000 meals being prepared and delivered in the following areas: Bel Air, Cite Soleil, Route de l’Enterrement and Carrefour de l’Aeroport in Port- au-Prince.  

All distributions are managed by the local Yéle Haiti team in collaboration with community leaders.
